Darryl Hayes
DETROIT, MICHIGAN
Darryl Hayes is a strong advocate of expanding participation in the shooting sports. While serving on the NRA Shotgun Committee, he worked with NRA to increase NRA membership and participation in shotgun shooting. Hayes also brings strong organizational leadership experience to the table with his current position as the Deputy Chief of the Detroit Police Department, Crime Strategies Bureau and his recent past service as the president of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. At this critical time in NRA’s history, NRA needs leaders with these strong leadership qualities.
He is also a strong advocate of reaching out to and growing membership from urban and other non-traditional gun owner groups and is very supportive of providing educational programs for teaching safe, responsible and proper firearms use to many young shooters in the community.
